BLE Provisioning in the SOPS Portal

BLE Provisioning lets an administrator add and configure a nearby SyncSign Hub from the SOPS Portal by using Web Bluetooth.

Requirements and Limitations

  • Use Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge. Firefox, Safari, and Brave are not supported.

  • Open the SOPS Portal over HTTPS. Web Bluetooth is unavailable when the Portal is opened over plain HTTP.

  • Before scanning, press and hold the Hub button for 5 seconds to put the Hub into Setup mode.

  • When using Add by SN, enter the serial number without the MC prefix. MC identifies the value as a Hub SN and must not be entered in the field.

Provision a Hub with Web Bluetooth

  1. Open https://<Your-SOPS-Domain> in Chrome or Edge and sign in to the SOPS Portal.

  2. Open Hubs, select Add Hub, and choose BLE Provisioning.

  3. Press and hold the Hub button for 5 seconds until the Hub enters Setup mode.

  4. Start the scan in the Portal. When the browser displays its Bluetooth device picker, select the target Hub.

  5. Follow the Portal prompts to configure the Hub and add it to SOPS.

  6. Confirm that the new Hub appears on the Hubs page.

Add a Hub by Serial Number

  1. Open Hubs > Add Hub and choose Add by SN.

  2. Enter the Hub serial number without the MC prefix.

  3. Submit the form and confirm that the Hub appears on the Hubs page.

Troubleshooting

  • If BLE Provisioning is missing or disabled, confirm that the Portal uses HTTPS and that the browser is Chrome or Edge.

  • If no Hub is found, put the Hub into Setup mode again, move it closer to the computer, and repeat the scan.

  • If Add by SN rejects the serial number, remove the MC prefix and submit it again.
